What is the Kansas City Women’s Chorus Endowment Fund?
Created to honor the legacy of the Kansas City Women’s Chorus’s work as a musical home for members and a force for social good, the Kansas City Women’s Chorus Endowment Fund is a special investment fund meant to enable Kansas City Women’s Chorus’s financial well-being for the long term. Donor gifts are set aside in an income-generating investment that may be tapped in times of need, capital growth, or other special circumstances.
- Gifts are administered by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
- Withdrawals are typically made only on income generated by growth of the fund. A Kansas City Women’s Chorus Board vote is required to make withdrawals.
- Withdrawals may only be made once the principal in the fund has reached and is maintained at $25,000.
- Endowment funds are typically not used for everyday (and important) expenses such as rent, musicians, commissions, and music purchases.

- Who wish to give a large amount once, as the principal has an opportunity to be invested and grow.
- Who are most interested in making a deferred, future gift.
- Who prefer to direct their gifts toward capital investments, one-time improvements, or times of greatest need.
