Not every “villain” is bad, but it’s best not to test them and find out. The lineup of songs will include notable pieces such as Verdi’s “Witches’ Chorus,” Paul David Thomas’ “Out Damned Spot,” Will Nichols’ “Sea Witch,” Mendelssohn’s “Hexenlied,” and Menken/Huff’s “Badder.” Expect a musical experience that celebrates the strength and complexity of remarkable women everywhere!

Whether it’s finding comfort in the presence of a faithful dog, the soothing purr of a cat, or the gentle touch of a horse, we’ve always known that animals and humans can share empathy with each other. Imagine a world devoid of any animals: no companion animals in our homes, no wild creatures in our forests, rivers, and seas, no farm animals, no pollinators. Animals are crucial to our happiness because they are fundamental to our very existence. One particular song that beautifully captures this connection is the tender and melodic “Deer Song,” told from the perspective of the doe who stayed with Matthew Shepard throughout the night, offering solace and a counterbalance to cruelty.
